There’s a little girl in Kyev named Daryna. Her name means “God’s gift” in Ukraine. She woke up this morning to a mother and father and grandmother and grandfather, gathered around the kitchen table, not greeting her with the joy of a new day. Without knowing why, her home is no longer a safe refuge. She has seen no Russian tanks or troops. She doesn’t understand world politics.
